Who are Ogden Runners?

Quite simply we are a small group of like-minded runners who just love to get out in the fresh air come rain or shine and run! You may well have seen similar folk pounding the streets - you may even be one of them! If this appeals to you, or better still if you prefer to get off the beaten track why not come and join us?

Are we just a group of really serious runners?

Not at all! We're all different - whether you run slow or fast, run 1 mile or 26 miles, everyone is welcome! Running should be fun - so come along to discover some routes that you really enjoy and give you that buzz!

Whether you enjoy running on your own or prefer to run with a partner or group, come and enjoy the glorious scenery and varied routes that Ogden has to offer.

Nestled beneath a backdrop of undulating woodland and open hills is the scenic Ogden Water. Popular with walkers both young and old alike, the 1.22 mile trail track around the reservoir is ideal for joggers and runners of all abilities. In addition to numerous trail routes winding through the woods, the more adventurous of you may prefer the barren delights of the open moors to put your fell running ability to the test!

Where will you find us?

As the name suggests you will mostly find us on all routes in and around Ogden! For group runs our regular meeting point is in the lower car park at Ogden Water Country Park, Ogden Lane, Keighley Road, Halifax. HX2 8YA. Follow the "Ogden Water" sign at Keighley Road/Ogden Lane junction by the Causeway Foot Inn - which conveniently is our venue for post run meetings and social events.

Welcome to Ogden Runners

How much will it cost me to join?

Nothing - it's all free! Our philosophy at Ogden Runners is that everyone should be able to enjoy the open countryside. You may run for personal pride or general health and fitness, but above all it should be fun.

Why pay hundreds of pounds a year to lock yourself into a gym membership to run on the same old treadmill?  Don’t get us wrong, we understand that gyms have their own place for cross-training (such as weight and kettlebell training), but the fresh air of the open outdoors is simply all you need for running and won’t cost a penny!

So come and join us. To savour the wonders of nature, feel the breeze on your face and the freedom of running; just put on your trainers and you're away!
